More than 300 delegates at this year's Spa Life UK learned that healthy hotels, self-expression through colour and the significance of ancient and authentic therapies will be just some of the predictions from the Spafinder Wellness 2013 Trend Report.
The sneak peek of what to expect in the year ahead was delivered at the event - held earlier this month - by Cassandra Cavanaugh, executive director for Spafinder Wellness in Europe. The full Spafinder report is expected to be published before the end of the year.
The two-day Spa Life event, now in its third year, also included a CEO Summit on the first day - an invite-only summit giving 40 UK spa operators a rare opportunity to get together to discuss key industry issues and share examples of best practice.
The industry skills gap was the topic that the majority of summit delegates had voted to discuss, closely followed by employment issues such as spa management development and education.
Other categories debated were the use of third-party internet promotions by companies like Groupon and retailing in spas.
Spa Life also held an industry Buyer/Supplier Forum and Expo.
