The Weavers’ House Spa at The Swan Hotel at Lavenham in Suffolk, UK, has launched after a number of building issues delayed the
expected opening date of mid-December.
Operated by TA Hotel Collection, the four-star 15th Century hotel has added a six-treatment room spa to the 45-key hotel. The spa, which exclusively uses Temple Spa skincare, features two relaxation suites, a steamroom, sauna, an outdoor vitality pool and a retail boutique.
A spokesperson for the spa told
Spa Opportunities there were delays to the opening of the facility because of a number of building complications.
Architect and designer Roger Balmer told local media: “Our rationale behind the build was to create a cool, calm environment that worked well with the beautiful older buildings. The [spa] building has excellent environmental credentials with heating provided by a deep ground source heat pump and most of the water coming from an on-site borehole.”
Kate Earle, partner at interior design firm Todhunter Earle, added: “We had a relaxed country contemporary vision for the new spa, with a focus on natural finishes. We have used bleached oak, stone, plaster, reclaimed timber, Suffolk-sourced naturally dyed linens and large panels of glass to bring the outside in.”
