GOCO collaborates with Jean-Michel Gathy to create riverside urban wellness centre for upcoming Four Seasons Bangkok |

Jean-Michel Gathy oversaw design for the hotel, drawing on the movement of the Chaophraya river to inspire his vision

The Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River is gearing up to open on 18 December, occupying a 200m (660ft) stretch alongside the river and inspired by Thai culture and the hotel's riverfront location.
GOCO Hospitality has realised a 2,500sq m wellness spa focused on mind, body and soul at the new destination, with interior design by celebrated architect, designer and Denniston founder, Jean-Michel Gathy.
The urban wellness centre will feature an advanced beauty room, where science and wellness will be combined to create a range of technologically advanced anti-ageing and body transformation treatments.
Guests will also be offered a menu of massages, wraps, scrubs, facials and a selection of signature treatments including an Omorovicza Massage, LPG Endermologie Face and Body Contouring, cupping treatments and a Bamboo Massage.
Spread across two floors, the facility will include nine treatment rooms – two of which will be couples’ rooms, plus a VIP spa suite with thermal facilities and a private garden with bathing areas.
Separate-sex thermal facilities and relaxation spaces will complete the mix, along with a mind and body studio, vitality pool, TechnoGym-equipped gym and hair salon and barber.
Gathy oversaw design for the entire 299-key hotel, drawing on the movement of the Chaophraya river to inspire his vision.
He worked to create a soothing and serene ambience throughout, by incorporating other natural elements like greenery and trees.
Elegant Thai touches, meanwhile, are seen in the use of architectural elements like arches, intricate detailing, fabrics like silk and gentle tones.
"The core challenge that drew me to this extraordinary project was the chance to craft the ultimate urban resort experience and at the same time to create an incomparable city hotel that would not only complement but also enhance its unique, expansive riverside location,” said Gathy.
A host of wellness activities will be offered to guests, ranging from full moon meditation and Reiki to Tibetan singing bowl healing and Spirit House tours. This will be complemented with a schedule of visiting practitioners and in-depth workshops.
