Accor and Kievskaya Ploshchad Group of Companies have announced the upcoming opening of a luxury Raffles-branded hotel in the very heart of Moscow.
Situated at the centre of a historical district, the hotel is expected to open in the second half of 2022 and will become the first Raffles hotel in Russia.
The 153-key destination will feature a luxury spa with a traditional Russian sauna – called a banya – as well as multiple thermal zones, a fitness centre and swimming pool. Guests will be welcomed into Raffles Moscow through a historical arch and a unique mosaic outdoor courtyard which will be a focal point of the property.
The building will offer breathtaking views of the historic Red Square, Kremlin ensemble – including the picturesque Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed and sights of Moscow’s historical district. According to Accor, it has been essential to maintain and preserve the historical character of surrounding facades throughout the initial concept design and delivery of the project.
British design studio Winch has developed the design of the hotel in collaboration with Accor’s luxury design team. Sébastien Bazin, chair and CEO of Accor, said: “Announcing the arrival of the iconic Raffles brand in Russia is an extraordinary moment for Accor. The hotel’s unique location and legendary Raffles service will make it one of the most exciting openings of 2022 for Accor.
“It’s a privilege to be working in partnership with Kievskaya Ploshchad and we look forward to bringing this new jewel to life”. Raffles Moscow will also feature five haute dining restaurants including three signature chef restaurants and a Ladurée bakery run by the famous Russian restaurateur, Alexander Rappoport.
Complementing the restaurants will be the legendary Raffles Long Bar, which dates back to the flagship Raffles hotel in Singapore. One of the main features of Raffles Moscow will be a spacious event centre, featuring a Grand Ballroom, four meeting rooms and an open outdoor event area.
