The five-star Aghadoe Heights hotel, in Killarney, Co Kerry, will be opening its new, 10,000sq ft Concept Destination Spa in July.
The bespoke spa will use the Aveda product and treatment range and will be Aveda’s fifteenth concept destination spa resort.
Aveda products will also be used in the hotel’s recently re-styled hair salon.
Independent spa consultant, Jennifer Gorman, is also working on the spa while chief designers on the project are the UK-based Syntax Group.
The spa will offer water, steam, thermal, face and body treatments for both men and women as a well as offring a ‘quiet, warm and peaceful environment’, designed to enable guests to ‘escape and unwind’.
There will be 11 treatment rooms offering hydro and wet treatments, highly-specialised face and body treatments, a slipper bath, a manicure and pedicure suite, a couples suite and a pre- or post-relaxation area.
The hotel will also be adding 24 junior suites and a two-bedroom penthouse, which will open in conjunction with the new spa.
General manager of Aveda Europe, Amanda Le Roux, said: “We are delighted to announce the first Aveda Concept Destination Spa in Ireland and are thrilled to be part of this very exciting project at the Aghadoe Heights.
“It’s particularly appropriate that Aveda should be involved with Aghadoe, where the wild natural surroundings combine with a spiritual stillness, a place that so truly embodies the Aveda philosophy.” Details: www.aghadoeheights.com
