UK hotel group, Shire Hotels, has unveiled a £1.2m health club and spa refurbishment at its Solent Hotel & Spa property in Hampshire.
The new facilities, designed by architect, Steve Shaw, include a colour therapy sauna and fibre optic steamroom which radiate ‘calming and rejuvenating’ colours throughout the day – yellows and greens in the morning to uplift and blues and purples in the evening to relax and de-stress.
Changing facilities and the pool hall have both been extended and squah courts demolished to make way for a new gym equipped by Cybex and Life Fitness.
A studio offering classes in yoga, group cycling, circuit training and aerobics.
A monsoon shower alongside the existing 13m swimming pool glows red or blue depending on the heat selected and a new lounge area for relaxing and eating, The Terrace, has been opened overlooking the pool.
The Solent Hotel & Spa in Fareham already offers a steamroom, sauna and solarium as well as 111 bedrooms and suites. Details: www.shirehotels.com
