Irish company Solemates™, which introduced the innovative reflexology Flight Slipper, will be launching the reflexology Well Being Sandal in 2006.
The principle of the new sandal is based on a series of specifically placed protrusions which are designed to stimulate reflex points on the sole of the foot corresponding to the heart, lungs, shoulders and lower body.
The stimulation of these 7,200 nerve endings is said to persuade the body to naturally and non-invasively correct itself, resulting in increased circulation which in turn eliminates toxins, decreases levels of stress and anxiety and enhances an overall deep sense of relaxation, harmony and balance.
Solemates says the Well Being Sandal - which can be worn in the morning to help invigorate circulation, and in the evening to promote relaxation - can benefit almost anyone who suffers from bad circulation or who remains seated for long periods of time - in a car, bus or train for instance, or those with a sedentary job.
Washable and with a non-slip sole, the sandal comes in three sizes - Small, Medium and Large - and the PVC from which it is made is treated with both tea tree oil and lemongrass essential oils to guard against veruccas and similar foot related problems.
The company's Flight Slipper is the subject of a worldwide distribution agreement with the Aviation Health Institute - leading authority in flying related health issues - and Solemates is focusing on making the new sandal equally as accessible to the growing holistically-driven 'every day wear' sector.
