The new destination has both a spa and a clinical wing for a variety of therapies
There is a sonorium, which is described as the world's largest healing dome
The spa has 14 therapy areas

Tulah Clinical Wellness, a holistic wellness destination, has officially opened in the hills of northern Kerala, India.

Tulah, which means “balance” in Sanskrit, is a clinical healing sanctuary offering guests personalised healing and transformational experiences for the body, mind and soul.

The property brings together ancient Eastern principles of Ayurveda, yoga, Vedanta, Tibetan medicine and TCM with modern medical expertise, such as advanced diagnostics and regenerative medicine.

The project is the vision of engineer, entrepreneur and philanthropist Faizal Kottikollon. Kottikollon’s social impact projects have included the development of Tulah’s sister institution, Meitra Hospital, a modular healthcare facility in India.

Read more about Kottikollon’s UAE-based investment company KEF Holdings and initial plans for Tulah in an earlier report in Spa Business here.

The long-term aim for Tulah is for the project to become an evolving ecosystem that will include urban clinical hubs and at-home care programmes that offer a new model of holistic data-led wellbeing.

Kottikollon said, “The sanctuary is not simply a destination, but a place for reflection, restoration and belonging.”

Facilities

The 30-acre property has 65 suites for accommodation set within medicinal gardens and rewilded forest.

The spa has 14 therapy areas, saunas and a watsu pool. For movement, there is a yoga studio, aerial yoga studio, multifunctional studio.

The property features a celestial resonance chamber and a sonorium, which is described as the world’s largest sound healing dome.

The clinical wing has a fully equipped operating theatre and Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The property has been built to LEED and WELL standards and is powered by net-zero solar energy. On-site agriculture and local partnerships produce sustainable cuisine. The architecture has also been designed in harmony with the land to preserve native biodiversity.

Programming

Guests undergo an extensive pre-arrival assessment to evaluate physical, mental and emotional health. On-site, guests can have more testing if required.

Metrics about muscle density, cardio function, immune system and gut health, stress and quality of life data are recorded using The Tulah Life Index. This data informs highly personalised treatment plans that range from four-day health discoveries to 21-day oncology recovery stays.

In addition to medical treatments, healing therapies include conscious breath journeys, chakra stone treatments, Reiki, cryotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and watsu therapy sessions.

Other activities available at the destination include guided tropical walks, visits to a protected bird sanctuary, excursions to Keralan waterways, kayaking, paddle boarding, pickleball, tennis, cycling and boxing training sessions.
