Lynne McNees, president of the International Spa Association (ISPA), has announced the new ISPA Board of Directors and officers for 2023.
The ISPA board will be led by chair Patrick Huey – general manager of We Care Spa – with Kelleye Martin, spa director of Trellis, The Spa at The Houstonian, serving as vice chair.
Meanwhile, Michelle Adams Somerville – executive VP of operations and engagement for the Woodstock Inn and Resort – will serve as secretary/treasurer.
“Interest in board service continues to grow each year, and we’re grateful for the commitment made by these volunteer leaders to help guide our association forward and pursue our vision of elevating the spa industry to new heights,” said McNees. ISPA has also welcomed three new members and two returning directors to the board: • Taylor Fields, corporate director of spa, wellness and retail at PCH Hotels and Resorts. • Jennifer Holzworth, corporate director of spa operations, Montage International. • Terry Prager, global operations manager, Seed to Skin. • Michelle Adams Somerville, executive VP of operations and engagement, The Woodstock Inn and Resort. • Jessica Timberlake, owner, Jessica L Timberlake Consulting. According to ISPA, this board elect was selected from a large slate of candidates following an extensive nomination and interview process.
In addition to the board elect and returning officers, eight board members will continue to serve their terms:
• CG Funk, senior vice president of culture and industry relations, Massage Heights Corporate. • Dawn MacLellan, director of wellness, aquatics and youth, The Landings Golf and Athletic Club. • Barry McCaffrey, vice president of sales, professional channels, Babor. • Charlotte Prescott, director of spa and fitness, Fisher Island Club Spa Internazionale. • Kenneth Ryan, vice president – global operations: spa, fitness and retail, Marriott International. • Eric Savage, president and CEO, Freedom Spas. • Jessica Shea, vice president, wellness, retail and leisure operations, Hilton.
Todd Shaw with Fountain Life will continue to serve on the ISPA Board representing the ISPA Foundation Board of Directors. The interview process for the 2024 Board of Directors will launch in early 2024. At that time, a call for candidates will be announced to all ISPA members.
