Spa products manufacturer Thalgo is sponsoring French free-diving champion Aurore Asso as part of its work raising awareness of the marine environment.
As well as competing in free-diving international competitions Aurore Asso raises awareness of the protection of the marine environment.
“Aurore Asso was keen to partner with a company who shared her own values. Like Thalgo she has a passion for nature and the ocean, so we are thrilled to be working with Aurore in raising awareness of the marine environment and the powerful benefits of the oceans’ treasures,” said Marian Green, Thalgo UK group managing director.
Thalgo has been developing marine-based beauty for nearly 50 years and has identified more than 50 marine extracts for ingredients.
It uses satellite spotting of harvest zones to identify extraction periods so as not to disrupt ocean-life reproduction cycles.
Aurore began a career as a perfumer but has been diving since the age of eight, She is three-time French titleholder and number two worldwide. She heads a project called Les 7 Merveilles du Mond Aquatique - The Seven Wonders of the Aquatic World, which sets out to mobilise public opinion on the vulnerability of aquatic resources.
She said: “I’m making documentaries and pursing an ideal – to raise people’s awareness of ecological problems.”
