Reservations are now being accepted for The Vdara Hotel and the ARIA resort, casino and spa at the US$9bn (6.6bn euro, £5.9bn) CityCenter mega-development in Las Vegas, Nevada, US.
Opening on 1 October 2009, Vdara will be the first of CityCenter’s developments to open, followed by Mandarin Oriental and Crystals retail and entertainment district in early December.
CityCenter’s grand opening celebrations will culminate with the launch of the development’s centrepiece, ARIA, on 16 December 2009. The 61-storey high property will feature a 80,000sq ft (7,432sq m) ARIA spa which will include 62 individual treatment rooms and three spa suites.
A number of changes are also taking place at the 67-acre development in Las Vegas, Nevada, US. The changes relate to The Harmon Hotel & Spa which include postponing the opening of the hotel to late 2010 and cancelling The Harmon residential condominium component.
This has increased the company’s total cost savings to US$600m (E441.9m, £399.1m). In addition, the postponement will defer a further US$200m (E147.3m, £133m) in construction costs to complete The Harmon’s interior fit out.
CityCenter is owned by CityCenter Holdings, LLC, a joint venture between MGM Mirage and Infinity World Development Corp, a subsidiary of Dubai World.
