Reservations are now being accepted for The Vdara Hotel and the ARIA resort, casino and spa at the US$9bn (6.6bn euro, £5.9bn) CityCenter mega-development in Las Vegas, Nevada, US.
Opening on 1 October 2009, Vdara will be the first of CityCenter’s developments to open, followed by Mandarin Oriental and Crystals entertainment district in early December.
CityCenter’s grand opening celebrations will culminate with the launch of the development’s centrepiece, ARIA, on 16 December 2009. The 61-storey property will feature a 80,000sq ft (7,432sq m) ARIA spa which will include 62 treatment rooms and three spa suites.
Other changes are also taking place at the 67-acre development. The opening of The Harmon Hotel & Spa is being postponed until to late 2010, while The Harmon residential condominium component has been cancelled.
This has saved the company a total of US$600m (441.9m euro, £399.1m). In addition, the postponement will defer a further US$200m (147.3m euro, £133m) in construction costs to complete The Harmon’s interior fit-out.
CityCenter is owned by CityCenter Holdings, LLC, a joint venture between MGM Mirage and Infinity World Development Corp, a subsidiary of Dubai World. Details: citycenter.com
