Whittlebury Hall Hotel and Day Spa in Northamptonshire UK, has extended its spa with a new 1,400sq m (15,000sq ft) facility which offers a variety of heat, mud and ice spa experiences.
The extension – which opened on 7 July – has doubled the size of the hotel’s spa offering to 3,100sq m (33,350sq ft). The entire facility now boasts 24 treatment rooms as well as a Middle-Eastern inspired dry heat Hamman steam chamber; a large hydrotherapy pool; an aromatherapy crystal steamroom; a soap massage room; a calderium comprising a series of dry and wet heat cabins and an ice cave, which is designed to boost the body’s respiratory and circulatory systems.
New treatments include mud therapy – where guests are enveloped in mineral mud before relaxing in the warm and misty Rasal chamber – and Roman Salt Steam, which involves a salt body massage.
Equipment suppliers for the new facilities include Penguin Pools – which was responsible for the hydrotherapy pool – and German company Klaf.
Existing facilities include a 19m roman pool, a sauna, a steamroom, a whirlpool spa, a gymnasium, a café and a lounge area.
