Resort and spa operator Four Seasons has launched a programme of technical and vocational training at its two Maldives properties - Landaa Giraavaru and Kuda Huraa.
The certified Four Seasons Apprenticeship programme is aimed at young Maldivians who wish to enter the spa and hotel industries.
The group signed a partnership agreement last year with the Maldives government which recognises the Four Seasons Apprenticeship Programme as a government-accredited curriculum, with competency standards and qualifications that have received national recognition and certification.
The brainchild of Armando Kraenzlin, regional vice president and general manager of Four Seasons Resort Maldives, the programme's objective is to provide apprentices with a firm platform of theoretical knowledge and practical skills to perform successfully in the tourism industry in the Maldives.
Classroom sessions - designed to cover materials being taught in practice - are presented by senior hotel managers with many years of international experience in the spa and deluxe hotel industries.
