| Indonesian herbal elixirs, Balinese body masks star at new Four Seasons Jakarta spa |

Four Seasons has opened a hotel in Jakarta’s Central Business District at the all-new Capital Place, an award-winning architectural landmark by Cesar Pelli.
The hotel features a spa that takes its inspiration from Southeast Asian cultures woven together with global influences. Facilities include eight treatment rooms, two couple’s suites, a hammam, relaxation lounge, spa shop, a 24-hour fitness centre and an outdoor pool on the fifth-floor rooftop.
A beauty salon, dedicated nail bar and gentlemen’s barbershop will be added in the near future.
Spa director Arie Sunia said signature treatments include the Royal Body Boreh, which includes a traditional Balinese body mask of fresh herbs and warming spices; and the Luxury of Lulur, based on ancient Javanese beauty rituals.
A special Soak & Sip pairs a choice of soothing baths with jamu, a traditional Indonesian herbal elixir made with local spices.
The spa also includes an Express Menu geared towards busy business travellers, with 30-minute treatments followed by a light poolside lunch or a cocktail at the end of the workday.
Interior designer Alexandra Champalimaud worked on the 125-suite hotel, taking her inspiration from Jakarta’s long-established position on the global stage, its commercial trading history, and the influence of many cultures on its character – in particular, Indonesia’s Dutch colonial period.
The hotel’s lobby features soaring ceilings and a grand staircase lit by a crystal chandelier. The colour palette, materials and finishes, furnishings and lighting reflect a classical European aesthetic.
The Four Seasons Jakarta also presents a curated collection of works by contemporary and historic Indonesian artists, themed around the city and depicting its landmarks, history and culture.
Landscape architect Bill Bensley worked to create an element of urban resort style within the city’s financial and business hubs, and features lush outdoor spaces with exotic flora, water features and resort-like terraces and open-air rooms.
The hotel also includes several dining options, more than 1,800sq m (20,000sq ft) of function space, a Grand Ballroom and a Garden Terrace.
