Making an appearance in early 2012, the luxury Salamander resort and spa will reside in the village of Middleburg near Washington DC, US.
The architects for the project are the US-based WATG group and owners are the Salamander Hospitality group also from the US.
The spa will cover 23,000sq ft (2,136sq m) and offer 14 treatment rooms, many with private outdoor terraces. It will also offer two outdoor 'treehouse' treatment rooms on the edge of woods, overlooking a stream.
The resort will open in 2012 and will be one of the first in the US to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.
