InterContinental Hotels and Resorts group is continuing its expansion into the African day spa market with the addition of a new 32,300sq ft (3,000sq m) wellness facility called Lifestyles Health Club & Spa at its Citystars Cairo hotel.
Its 12 treatment rooms feature stately décor and individual heating, lighting and music controls to enable therapists to adapt the atmosphere to each client’s mood.
Treatments include facials, massages and body therapies.
A team of therapists have been trained in an array of techniques from several cultures, including traditional Egyptian, ancient Japanese and Thai, as well as ayurvedic and Native American therapies.
In addition, nutritional advice is available through the hotel’s new sports bar and lounge.
The 790-bedroom hotel opened in spring 2005, complete with Japanese teppanyaki and Lebanese restaurants, a coffee shop and a
cocktail lounge.
