Spa management and development company Six Senses and hotel group Jumeirah have agreed to pursue individual initiatives within the spa industry following two years of collaboration.
Speaking about the split, Bernhard Bohnenberger, Six Senses managing director, said: “Six Senses Spas has a strong development programme with new locations stretching from the Pacific to the Caribbean, Middle East and Europe. So, without both of our groups in similar mode, we made the decision to move forward independently.”
Upcoming Six Senses development will include the Ma’in Hot Springs in Jordan and at the Evason Hideaway at Zighy Bay, Oman.
Six Senses is also to operate a spa onboard the luxury Christina O yacht, which will be available for private hire.
The intimate spa comprises one double and one single treatment room while spa treatments – including Six Senses Signature therapies such as core massages, facials and body therapies – will also be offered in the yacht’s suites.
Developed and operated by the Six Senses team, the spa was added to the yacht as part of a two-and-a-half-year restoration and refurbishment. Details: www.sixsenses.com
