A new partnership has been formed between the UK-based University of Derby in Buxton and a local hospice, to give cancer patients free complementary therapies.
After completing specialist training, the university's spa managers and assessors have taught students how to deliver therapies to cancer patients and carers associated with Blythe House Hospice, in Chapel en le Frith.
The treatments are offered at either the hospice or the university's Devonshire Spa facility.
The initiative is intended to help people cope with the effects of their illness and the side-effects of their treatments. Details: derby.ac.uk
