A mixed-use development called the Tokyo Midtown project is set to open in Tokyo, Japan, in spring 2007.
The venture will feature Tokyo’s second tallest tower – dubbed Tokyo Midtown – which will include a 250-bedroom Ritz-Carlton hotel with a sky lobby, function room and ballroom, several restaurants and bars as well as a health club and spa.
The tower will also house an art and design centre called 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT, created by Japanese designers Issei Miyake, Taku Satoh and Naoto Fukasawa with Tadao Ando Architect & Associates, as well as restaurants, shops, residential units and offices overlooking a large park.
In addition, the Suntory Museum of Art will neighbour 21_21, following its relocation from Akasaka. Details: www.tokyo-midtwon.com
