A privately-owned women-only spa has opened in Marrakech, Morocco.

The 12-acre Harem luxury resort, owned by entrepreneur Sandra Zwollo, offers accommodation in 10 suites with private gardens.

Spa facilities include treatment rooms, two massage rooms, hammam, yoga and meditation rooms, a heated swimming pool and a large health and fitness suite.

There are also 10 hectares of private gardens with walking and jogging paths.

Zwollo has formed ties with Dar Tifl, a local orphanage, which will see 80 per cent of the net profits of the retreat being put into a special fund to be used for helping orphaned girls finish their education.
