New York-based Spa Finder has launched a campaign to raise awareness about melanoma and to position spas as a new line of defence against it.
Through its 'I Will Reflect' initiative, the company is working to encourage therapists and aestheticians to be on the lookout for melanoma's early warning signs and encourage clients to visit their GP for regular mole checks.
To help clients practise safety in the sun, Spa Finder has created 'I Will Reflect' wristbands which change colour when exposed to the sun, providing a visual reminder to cover up.
These will be distributed both via spas and as a complement to all Spa Finder Gift Certificates bought on www.spafinder.com.
Melanoma is reported to be the most deadly skin cancer, although it is curable if caught early enough and preventable with regular protection from the sun.
