Sofri's new Naturement holistic skincare range is based on the five Chinese elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water.
These in turn are individually related to a colour, a taste, a season, certain organs and their corresponding meridians, skin functions, etc.
Should the energy of one element be out of balance – through lifestyle, nutrition, emotions, surroundings, climate, etc – it will affect the other elements.
Sofri says its aim is to strengthen all the elements - which are of equal importance - as they nourish, support and control each other, whilst affecting the whole body.
One of the main ingredients of the range is the schisandra berry, the plant with the five tastes of sweet, sour, bitter, salty and pungent, which is said to moisturise, nourish and protect the skin.
All the Naturement products only contain lipids and oils on a phyto basis - such as soya and jojoba - as well as an oil typical of the relevant continent: wood, Australia; fire, America; earth, Asia; metal, Africa; and water, Europe.
The range currently consists of a moisturiser and corresponding plasticising mask for each element as well as a Tourmaline Oil.
