AMRA Skincare has launched a sleep treatment programme called AMRA Chrononight for spas, integrating tailored science-driven protocols and active ingredients.
The programme is a three-step system, created to deliver meaningful improvements to sleep health in spa and wellness settings.
It has been designed by AMRA Skincare’s founder and CEO, Sue Jones, who has completed a master's degree in sleep medicine and a post-graduate diploma in insomnia, circadian rhythm disturbances and hypersomnia in adults.
Jones told Spa Business: “I was plummeted into early onset menopause, which resulted in increased night awakenings and a significant decline in sleep quality. Driven by a desire to understand what was truly happening within my body, I began searching for answers – not only for myself, but for the many others affected by similar challenges.
“The statistics were staggering and it became clear I was far from alone,” Jones continued. “With years of experience in the wellness industry, I observed a distinct lack of effective, evidence-based solutions for guests struggling with sleep disturbances. My aim with AMRA Chrononight was to bridge the divide between medical science and wellness, delivering a programme designed to achieve outstanding results in a spa environment.”
The AMRA Chrononight programme
The first step is an initial 90-minute Biography of Sleep consultation. This is a detailed assessment to identify unique biological and lifestyle sleep factors.
A spa therapist conducts the assessment, inputting details into an advanced algorithmic platform that focuses on structured topics such as chronotypes and endocrinology to determine individual concerns.
The company’s Molecules of Sleep skincare range, which has been clinically researched, is then prescribed to restore homeostatic balance and support natural sleep cycles. There are three collections of facial and body products (a total of 20 SKUs) that have each been formulated for different effects.
- The Circadia collection products target melatonin regulation for sleep quality and to decrease the time it takes to fall asleep. These formulations are for guests with disrupted circadian rhythms.
- SeroSync products are for people experiencing emotional imbalances or those with limited access to natural sunlight.
- PRM is a collection of products for guests experiencing stress-related sleep issues or those with higher cortisol levels – including women transitioning through menopause.
The final and third step in the programme is the personalised Chrononight treatment programme, generated from the intake consultation. This includes recommendations for a range of treatments, such as physical massage therapy and guided neurological sleep therapies derived from psychological techniques used during cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I).
The programme will be offered in three different lengths: three days, seven days or 14 days.
Spa operators have access to the treatment plan via an online platform and guests will receive access to a post-departure plan via an app. They will also be able to order repeat products via the app.
Guests will also be assigned a personal sleep consultant to ensure they have dedicated ongoing support to help maintain and further improve sleep quality.
