Complexions Spa for Beauty and Wellness is expected to open its second spa during Q3 this year – in New York’s Saratoga Spring.
The new 6,500sq ft (603.9sq m) mineral spring water spa – located inside a luxury condo building in the centre of the city’s downtown shopping district – will be built to the same green standards as its 10,000sq ft (929sq m) Gold
LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certified sister medi-spa in Colonie, Albany.
Construction costs for the new spa are approximately US$600,000 (€440,000, £357,000) but owner, president and CIDESCO diplomat Denise Dubois declined to say how much she spent on the purchase of the two-storey unit. The developer is Saratoga-based Bonacio Construction.
“For centuries, people have soaked in mineral springs to reap the health benefits – such as increased blood circulation, cell oxygenation, pain reduction and increased mobility,” said Dubois. Fresh spring water will be piped into the spa from underground.
Once completed,
Complexions Spa at Saratoga Springs will employ nearly 40 massage therapists, nail technicians, make-up artists, hair stylists, aestheticians and spa coordinators.
The medi-spa in Albany employs 65 people.
Dubois thought carefully about where to set up the new facility. “We want to promote our services north of Saratoga, and to the east and west. We felt it was a good downtown to be in – it’s growing by leaps and bounds,” she said.
The Complexions Spa at
Saratoga Springs will be the second retail tenant in the building after Sotheby’s International Real Estate.
