Peloton rumoured to be launching a heart rate tracker
Speculation began after information about the device was discovered in the code of the Peloton iPhone and iPad app
It's understood the new wearable will have a digital screen and the ability to track a range of data
The device would be a significant upgrade to the basic heart-rate monitor that Peloton currently offers
Peloton is rumoured to be expanding its at-home fitness accessories with the launch of a heart rate sensor or tracker.
The speculation emerged after information about the device was discovered buried in the code for the company’s iPhone and iPad app and was reported by
Bloomberg.
It's understood the wearable would have a digital screen and come in different sizes and will be able to capture a range of data – a significant upgrade to the basic heart-rate monitor that Peloton currently offers as an accessory.
The news comes just months after Peloton completed the
acquisition of Atlas Wearables, a start-up which develops smart fitness monitors, and a number of other companies working in this vertical.
Earlier this month, Peloton announced it's expanding its reach within the online fitness market with the launch of a new
Corporate Wellness platform.
