Nilo Spa Design has launched a dry flotation bed called Marea that uses 500 litres of water to support the body evenly in a zero-gravity-like experience.
The temperature of the bed can be set to hot or cold, depending on guests’ needs, with no need for the client to undress or get wet.
The warmer temperatures range from 36°C to 45°C and the recommended session length is 30 minutes. Headphones are worn during the experience for a meditative experience.
The cooler temperatures sit between 4 - 6°C and the recommended session length is 10 minutes, for muscle recovery and skin rejuvenation.
The bed is designed to be used in a variety of spa and wellness locations, such as in a relaxation area or within a treatment room as part of a therapy that involves facial masks, foot massages or meditation.
Fitness centres may also benefit from offering the bed to guests seeking recovery benefits from contrast therapy without needing to use a cold plunge.
The bed is operated via an integrated touch control panel.
The maximum load capacity is 120kg.
The system can increase the water temperature by 8°C an hour and cool the temperature by 10°C an hour.
