Eco-spa resort operator Lefay Resorts & Residences has been appointed by developer Aminona Luxury Resort and Village SA (ALRV) to manage its new luxury spa resort located in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.
ALRV is in charge of the full development process, from planning, permitting and construction to the sales and marketing. The Aminona Village Masterplan involves the creation of a new mountain destination with hotels, shops, restaurants, bars and activities and a variety of recreational and supporting facilities.
Overlooking the iconic Mont Blanc and Matterhorn mountains, the upcoming Swiss Lefay resort will mark the brand's first property outside of Italy. It will join the group's portfolio of two existing destinations in Brescia and Trentino.
"I’m delighted that Lefay has been selected by ALRV to manage its flagship property within the Aminona project,” says Alcide Leali, CEO of Lefay. “This achievement marks the first step in our international expansion plan, as well as our first property under a management contract. We’re pleased to continue our growth with the addition of such an outstanding destination which will strengthen our positioning as a leading Italian brand in the luxury wellness and hospitality sector.”
Nestled in alpine forests, the destination will offer 106 suites and 12 serviced branded private chalets. It will be home to a 4,000sq m Lefay Spa featuring 21 treatment rooms, multiple indoor and outdoor swimming pools, wet zones and an adults-only area.
The facility’s healing approach will be founded upon the original Lefay Spa Method which combines Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Western Scientific Research to regenerate body, mind and spirit.
The village of Aminona is located in the Swiss municipality of Crans-Montana, known as one of the country’s most popular skiing hotspots. This focus on skiing will form a major part of the hotel’s personality and see it provide direct ski-lift access to the slopes. At an altitude ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 metres, the Crans-Montana ski area offers striking views from its 140 kilometres of south-facing marked pistes. The hotel’s leisure offering will also incorporate multiple dining experiences. All will be conceived according to the Lefay Vital Gourmet pillars, be inspired by Mediterranean diet principles and incorporate seasonal ingredients. Regional Italian regional delicacies will star on the menus which will be supplied by local organic suppliers.
The design of the hotel – supervised by Callison RTKL and IB+ – will be consistent with Lefay’s signature take on luxury Italian style. The design brief involves creating a timeless high-end luxury atmosphere which showcases the location’s natural alpine beauty. Curated by MKV, interiors will be completed with natural materials, such as rough stone, textured wood and bronze metal. In a nod to Lefay’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, the property will be powered by renewable and clean energy sources such as geothermal, photovoltaic panels and biomass.
