Swiss investor Caprivé has commissioned the Schletterer Wellness & Spa Design team to plan a 236,800sq ft (22,000sq m) destination spa in Geretsried, Germany.
Costing 60m euro (£44.9m, US$88.1m), the Spa-Aladin development will launch in 2010. It’s expected to create 100 new jobs for the southern Bavarian region and attract an additional 600,000 visitors to the area each year.
Based on an Eastern concept, the range of experiences at the spa will include treatments with thermal and Dead Sea water.
Special features will include a flower temple, salt galleries, gemstone steam rooms and an authentic spice souk, where visitors can purchase spices, herbs and teas.
There are also plans to build a 120-bedroom hotel on the Geretsried site.
