The Dorchester Collection’s modern country house hotel, Coworth Park, in Berkshire UK, has relaunched its spa and wellness facilities following extensive investment.
The Spa at Coworth Park has been reimagined to work in harmony with the surrounding green landscape with light-filled spaces, soft textures and nature-inspired design. Sparcstudio led the redesign.
Responding to growing demand for contrast bathing experiences, the spa now offers a Finnish sauna, citrine-lined steamroom and snow shower (by TechnoAlpin).
The eight treatment rooms have been refreshed and each has been named after plants found within the grounds of the 240-acre, 70-room property.
The spa menu offers treatments in partnership with Ishga, Wildsmith and Made for Life Organics. Spa therapists will now provide guests with an updated consultation to decide on a tailored treatment and a corresponding soundscape to be played throughout. Treatment and relaxation beds are by Gharieni.
Natura Bissé treatments are also now on offer at the spa, following partnerships with Coworth’s sister hotels The Dorchester and 45 Park Lane. New to Coworth is a pop-up treatment pod available until the end of Q3. The pod, known as the Natura Bissé Oxygen Bubble, allows guests to breathe pollution-free air – something predicted by the
Spa Business team in the
Spa Foresight trends report in 2014 (see page 22).
Dorchester Collection's global head of wellness and spa, Teresa O'Farrell, told
Spa Business exclusively, "Elevating our wellness experience at Coworth Park was the focus of the spa renovation. In today’s digital world the importance of providing purposeful relaxation set in nature cannot be overstated.
O'Farrell added, "The Spa at Coworth Park provides the perfect oasis of calm where guests can escape the pressures of daily life and embrace the fresh air and the sounds and smells of nature, taking them on a journey of the senses to promote deep relaxation. The new bespoke spa treatment menu provides tailored treatments that nurture both the body and mind. Our commitment to excellence not only enhances the guest experience but also fosters a deeper connection to their wellbeing, ensuring they leave feeling refreshed and revitalised.”
The new spa café will offer dishes created by Coworth Park’s executive chef, Adam Smith, including seasonal salads, fresh juices and herbal teas, which can be served on the outdoor terrace overlooking the estate.
The gym has also been expanded and is equipped with the latest Technogym Artis Luxury line and the brand’s Checkup station that uses AI to assess users’ balance and form, among other metrics.
Complementary wellness activities on offer across the estate include guided woodland walks, seasonal foraging, open-air yoga and equestrian wellbeing sessions. Mindful meadow-bathing sessions and nature-based sound healing are also available.
In celebration of the reopening, Coworth Park has introduced a new Stay and Spa package, offering guests an overnight stay for two with breakfast, a 60-minute treatment each and a dining credit worth £75 (€88, US$102).
The price of the package starts at £1,020 (€1,199, US$1,387) depending on the type of room.
