Urban gym and spa concept, Destination Health and Fitness, is seeking expansion opportunities following its successful launch in London, UK, this summer.
Founded by Chris Mundle, a personal trainer with 15 years’ experience and whose client base includes international athletes and celebrities, the 4,285sq ft club is located in the heart of London’s West End in Great Portland St.
The facility is set over two floors and includes a Cybex-equipped gym with CV kit from Precor and a private space dedicated to yoga, pilates, boxing, self-defence and martial arts training.
There is also a steamroom and beauty retreat with four treatment rooms offering a range of massages and treatments.
The gym space is allocated to a maximum of eight clients with their trainers at any one time and the facility is open to both members and non-members.
The club has grown by word of mouth 80 to members, but aims to attract up to 400, said Mundle. Annual membership costs £395, which entitles members to varying discounts on every product and service, including personal training. Corporate membership costs £350.
The company has been privately funded by Mundle with Toni Mascolo – owner of the hairdressing chain Toni&Guy – and his brother Anthony Mascolo – creative director of the TIGI Bed Head range of hairdressing products – have a 25 per cent stake in the business.
Destination now aims to roll out the concept to other suitable locations and is in discussions regarding sites in Guernsey and the US.
