| Grayshott Health Spa launches Health Regime experience and healthy cookery school |
| By Lauren Heath-Jones 17 May 2019 |
Grayshott was previously the home of noted poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Grayshott Health Spa, a luxury spa resort and the former home of Alfred, Lord Tennyson, in Surrey, UK, is set to introduce the Health Regime experience, a seven-day programme designed to balance and restore the digestive system.
The Health Regime is built around four main principles: Resting the digestive tract, replenishing the gut's microbiome, stimulating cellular cleansing and 'De-sugaring' the diet.
Guests will eat a diet free from grains, dairy and starchy vegetables, to give the lining of the gut the chance to heal and regenerate, the 5:2 method of intermittent fasting will detox and aid regeneration, while the elimination of sugar will improve cognitive function, boost energy levels and aid weight loss/management.
Launching alongside the Health Regime is Regime Gastronomy, a cookery school in partnership with Applegarth Farm. It will give guests the opportunity to learn recipes for the food they experience during their stay and will focus on fresh, nourishing cuisine designed to promote gut health. The three-hour classes will also showcase easy recipes and techniques that guests can incorporate into their everyday lives and will take place at the end of the Regime.
Classes will be hosted by Adam Palmer, consultant executive chef at Grayshott, and Stephanie Moore, co-founder of the Health Regime and will be held at the newly opened cookery school at Applegarth Farm. It is designed to work alongside the Regime to restore optimum gut health and enable guests to develop a healthy attitude towards food. Recipes will be based on guest preferences and will use fresh, seasonal ingredients. Possible recipes include lentil-coated cray fishcakes with coconut and mango; spelt risotto with celeriac, spinach and Roquefort and Moroccan spiced pumpkin soup.
The Health Regime will run between 29 May - 5 June and 10 July - 17 July and costs £2145 PP for seven nights double occupancy and includes accommodation, meals, Health Regime programming/treatments and three-hour cooking class.
