Dubai-based hospitality group Jumeirah plans to close the Jumeirah Beach Club Resort & Spa this month for complete redevelopment.
Simon Venison, general manager of the resort, said: “We understand that our members and guests are disappointed by the news that the resort will close, but the closure is necessary for us to develop the full potential of this unique location, and to create a comprehensive new resort product which will contribute to the future growth of tourism in Dubai.”
A completely revamped 141 all-suite boutique resort featuring Polynesian-style suites, water bungalows and beachfront suites will replace the beach club in late 2007.
In addition, the new resort will feature a purpose-built island spa, six restaurants and bars as well as an infinity pool overlooking the Persian Gulf.
All staff have been offered alternative positions within Jumeirah for the closure period. Details: www.jumeirah.com
