A boutique spa hotel called Maison MK has opened in Marrakech, Morocco.
Facilities at the MK Spa include two treatment rooms, a plunge pool and a fitness area.
Spa treatments fuse traditional Moroccan methods and Argan oils combined with more contemporary European techniques.
The MK Spa has a ‘dark’ and a ‘light’ treatment room – the dark room contains charcoal polished tadelakt and is used for massages while the light room can be used for manicures, facials and waxing.
Maison MK has been created in a traditional Moroccan house, known as a riad, by its owners, photographers Paul and Aoibheann Hopkins.
Featuring six accommodation suites with handmade mattresses and chiffon artwork, each bedroom has a pre-loaded iPod with ambient music and videos.
Other facilities include a split-level roof with a lounge area, a copper fire pit, cocktail bar and an Arabic tented area.
