Mexican hotel Ser Casasandra adds biomagnetism and kinesiology programming for 25th anniversary
By Helen Andrews 16 May 2025

The new combination of therapies is believed to foster physical and energetic harmony
The hotel’s signature “Letting Go” technique – a process designed to release emotional burdens – will be on offer
The anniversary celebrations will also include a four-day festival of art, gastronomy and wellness between 27-30 June
The property’s Ahal holistic centre is where guests can experience spa treatments
Mexican boutique wellness hotel Ser Casasandra will introduce a number of healing therapies that use the principles of biomagnetism and kinesiology, to celebrate the property’s 25th anniversary in June.

The new wellness programme, The essence of biomagnetic and kinesiology of knowledge blends alternative medicine practices of biomagnetism (manipulation of the body’s magnetic field with static magnets for pain relief and energy healing) with kinesiology.

The combined holistic therapy is said to restore cellular biochemical balance. The practice is believed to foster physical and energetic harmony by aligning the individual’s energy field with the subconscious, to root out and release emotional difficulties.

Ser Casasandra is offering this treatment as an opportunity for guests to release mental and emotional burdens – including conditioned beliefs. The practice also aims to elevate consciousness, train the mind to work in the individual’s favour and reduce emotional energy, anxiety, guilt and unconscious fears.

This therapy will be provided in combination with the hotel’s signature “Letting Go” technique – a process designed to release emotional burdens and limiting behavioural patterns without revisiting past pain.

Developed by founder Sandra Pérez and neuro-wellbeing practitioner Carlos Cámara, these treatments form part of a wider range of therapies and retreats on offer at Ser Casasandra.

Pérez told Spa Business exclusively, “Ser Casasandra was never meant to be just a hotel. It was born from my own rupture - a need to return to myself. What’s emerging now is a natural evolution of that beginning – a space not only for rest, but for deep inner work.

"More and more, we welcome guests navigating life changes, emotional fatigue, or a quiet call to reconnect with their essence," added Pérez. "Our new wellness programme is for those seeking something beyond the traditional spa – a place where healing happens from within, through presence, silence and profound respect for life. With retreats, year-round therapies and spiritual practices rooted in consciousness, our goal is not to offer services, but to create living laboratories for transformation. Here, each person is seen, held and invited to remember who they truly are.”

The anniversary celebrations will also include a four-day festival of art, gastronomy and wellness between 27-30 June. The property is known for funding the creative practices for the local community via an art residency programme that invites artists to lead workshops that benefit the children and adolescents in the surrounding area.

Ser Casasandra

Located on the island of Holbox, north of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, the hotel is owned by Cuban-born artist Sandra Pérez. Originally Pérez’ home, she transformed the property into a hotel with 18 rooms and a private villa. It is known for its delivery of holistic treatments and retreats that offer therapeutic and spiritual guidance.

Pérez has spent more than 15 years exploring the Hindu philosophy of Advaita Vedanta and non-duality – a framework for understanding the world as entirely interconnected. The hotel is therefore a place where therapies are focused on self-discovery and personal evolution.

The property’s Ahal holistic centre is where guests can experience spa treatments, wellness retreats and in-house physiotherapy. Other activities on offer include sunrise yoga, Pilates sessions on the beach and other outdoor pursuits such as snorkelling, diving and dolphin watching.

Rates for a standard double occupancy room on a bed and breakfast basis start from US$263 (€235, £198).
