Miraval promotes Sheri Morgan Muskin to general manager of Miraval Austin
By Megan Whitby 02 Sep 2021
Sheri Morgan Musk has spent 27 years with the Hyatt brand
Sheri Morgan Muskin has been appointed general manager of wellness destination Miraval Austin in Texas, US.

In this new role, Morgan Musk brings more than 35 years of hospitality experience – 27 of which have been spent at Hyatt.

She began her tenure at Hyatt as director of catering & convention services at Hyatt Charlotte and subsequently served in the same role at other properties including Hyatt Regency Cambridge, Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport and Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress.

Morgan Musk says her passion for hospitality is rooted in interpersonal connection, and since joining Miraval Arizona as resort manager in 2017, she embodied this philosophy by establishing personal relationships with resort guests and creating bonds that persist beyond check-in and check-out.

“Since joining the Miraval family in 2017, Sheri’s been a key part of the brand’s success,” said Susan Santiago, head of lifestyle and Miraval operations at Hyatt.

“She personifies Miraval’s guiding philosophies of balance and connection, and her passion for hospitality is evident in her every action. I look forward to seeing her grow in her new role at Miraval Austin as she continues to lead with grace, compassion and care.”

Morgan Musk plans to continue to lead with a human-first approach in her new role and ensure operations and guest experiences reflect the brand’s mission of championing mindfulness and a life in balance.

“I’m excited and honoured to be joining Miraval Austin’s incredible team and to continue nurturing its growth and delivering excellence in wellness hospitality,” she said.

Morgan Musk plans to introduce key leadership initiatives and support upcoming special events at the resort including pioneering a monthly leadership series for colleagues which focuses on empathy, support and mental wellbeing.

Additionally, she plans to support the Miraval brand’s partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) with staff sessions, tools, volunteer opportunities and by hosting Thought-Leaders for Miraval Austin guests.

More about Miraval Austin
Miraval Austin opened in 2019 as the brand’s second property and sister-site to the flagship in Tucson, Arizona.

The property has a 1,858sq m spa – called Life in Balance – conceptualised by wellness designer Clodagh. There are 30 treatment rooms in total, plus a Body Mindfulness Center, spa pool and relaxation rooms, along with heat experiences, a retail boutique and a salon.
