The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has continued its planned European rollout with the launch of the Ritz-Carlton hotel and spa in Powerscourt, County Wicklow in Ireland.
Officially opened by Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, the new property is located on four hectares within a site first settled in the 12th Century.
The 200-bedroom, Palladian-inspired hotel is situated in Powerscourt Gardens, a top Irish visitor attraction, and boasts floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Sugarloaf Mountain.
There is a 30,000sq ft (2,788sq m) ESPA spa facility with 20 treatment rooms.
Other facilities include two spa suites with views of the gardens, a lap pool, tepidarium, poolside waterfall and thermal suite.
The spa menu includes a signature Garden of Inspiration body and face botanical ritual.
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company operates a total of 67 hotels in the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
More than 30 Ritz-Carlton projects are currently under development around the world with future openings including Sanya and Beijing, both in China; Westchester, New York and Denver, Colorado, both in the US.
