Marston Hotels has opened a new spa and leisure club as part of a £3.5m expansion at its four-star Tankersley Manor hotel near Sheffield.
The 525sq m Reflections Spa and Leisure Club includes a fitness facility with equipment supplied by Technogym, a 12.5m swimming pool, a sauna, steamroom, spa pool and four treatment rooms offering treatments using E’SPA products.
The club is managed by Olympic medallist and former Commonwealth champion Donna Hartley and is open to both hotel guests and members.
A series of special offers are currently being run to boost membership.
As part of the development a new wing has also been added to the property offering a further 25 double and twin rooms, eight executive standard rooms and two suites. The new extension takes the number of rooms at the hotel to 100.
Marston Hotels director, John Cotter, said: “The £3.5m spent on adding these new leisure facilities and extra bedrooms represents a major investment by Marston Hotels.
“Tankersley Manor is one of the finest hotels in South Yorkshire and these new facilities will help the property go from strength to strength.”
Ten of Marston’s 15 hotels, including Tankersley, now have Reflections leisure clubs and the company plans to open a new leisure club at its Crewe Hall property in Cheshire in the summer/autumn of 2005.
A brand new hotel, the Nottingham Belfry, is due to open in late 2005/early 2006, which will also boast a new spa and leisure club.
