US-based Neptune-Benson has introduced the AEGIS Anti-Entrapment Shield for use in swimming pools and wet areas.
Made from solid fibreglass, the 30in x 30in cover can be fitted over any main drain up to 24in x 24in in size either on the floor or attached to a wall.
Said to be the safest drain protection available, AEGIS is also certified under the Virginia Graeme Baker Act, which requires all US public pools and spas to have safety drain covers and, in certain circumstances, an anti-entrapment system.
The NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) certified flowrates are: wall - 1120 gallons per minute (gpm) and floor - 1432 gpm.
