Marine beauty and spa specialist Thalgo will add an exotic touch to its brand with the launch of Polynesian Spa Ritual and complementing retail products this July. To mark the arrival, the company has just been named the exclusive supplier at Stoke Park - an historic Buckinghamshire, UK golf and country club with an 11-treatment room spa.
The 90-minute de-stressing and hydrating ritual offers a multi-sensory experience inspired by the islands of the Pacific Ocean.
It begins with a vanilla-scented body scrub incorporating fine white sand, sea salt and coconut shell. It also contains algo-monoi, a blend of mineral rich algae and monoi oil made from native flowers.
Next is a soothing, azure-coloured bath - reminiscent of the ocean - also featuring the active ingredient of marine algae to condition the skin.
Thlago has drawn on local techniques to create its muscle-loosening Mahana Massage which comprises slow and powerful sculpting movements. Water also features at this step in the form of heated liquid pillows to melt into, as well as warm sand pouches which when brushed across the body sound like people walking on the beach.
Finally, the skin is given extra nourishment and a golden shimmer with the application of Thalgo's Polynesian Sacred Oil with a light flower fragrance.
The oil is available in a retail product and sits alongside the Exotic Island Body Scrub, a Lagoon Water Bath Pebble (bath tablet) and the vanilla-fragranced Polynesian Scented Candle.
The Thalgo line will replace Stoke Park Spa's own-branded professional and retail product range, called SPC Skincare. Thalgo will also replace SPC Skincare at Stoke Park's sister SPC Spa in the Baglioni Hotel, London.
The initial aim was to roll out SPC Skincare in independent spas across the UK, but the take up of the site-specific branded-product was too slow.
