Just like our industry, science never stays still. One area generating a lot of attention and excitement in both the scientific community and wellness industry has been music.
Ever since Ancient Greece, music has been understood to be part art, part science. But recently, for the first time, science has been translating the technicalities of music into actionable insight. In response, Myndstream has been working with leading musical talent to create playlists designed for health and wellness outcomes.
Having just completed a full literary review of the latest research, in January Myndstream is launching four new all-day playlists onto The Stream, its royalty-free music streaming service for spas.
Each playlist is designed for a different wellness outcome and spa environment, adding to its 60-plus playlists already available. The music within each playlist has been carefully selected based on the impact science has shown pitch, mode, timbre and tempo to have on our mood and physiology.
Commenting on the launch, Freddie Moross, founder of Myndstream, said: “These playlists are directly inspired by science, but also by our clients.
“We’ve received great feedback on our existing playlists, which are each tailored to a therapeutic outcome and treatment length. But customers have also been asking for playlists they can leave playing throughout the day.
“This is just an example of the kind of innovation we’ll be focused on this year. We can’t wait to share more.”
